PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent transparency and suitable for use as molding material, adhesion, coating material, color toner, dispersion aid, compatibilizing agent, etc., by dispersing a modified wax in a thermoplastic polymer uniformly and finely. CONSTITUTION:1-90pts.wt. wax having a ratio of weight-average MW/number- average MW of 1.05 or above, such as PP wax having a number-average MW of 900-5,000 is dissolved in 99-10pts.wt. at least one vinyl monomer selected from arom. vinyl monomers and acrylate esters and the mixture is suspended as liquid droplets on water and is reacted in the presence of 0.05-30wt% (based on the quantity of the monomer) polymn. initiator to obtain a modified wax (B). 50wt% (based on the quantity of thermoplastic monomer) component B as such or diluted with unmodified wax is added to a thermoplastic resin (A) such as styrene resin or polyester, and the mixture is thoroughly kneaded to disperse component B as a dispersion phase having a particle size of 1mu or below, thus obtaining the titled compsn. |
