<p>A microsurgical needle holder (10), including first and second elongated members (14, 18) pivotally hinged at their proximal ends and an intermediate member (28) attached to the first member (14) intermediate its ends, and between the first and second members (14, 18), has a slide and lock actuator (48) for moving the first member (14) and the intermediate member (28) between a first position wherein the distal ends are spaced apart and a second position wherein the distal ends are engaged, so that a needle can be securely held therebetween. The needle holder (10) can be hand held and the actuator (48) fingertip controlled.</p> |
