PURPOSE: A method for supplying an information service through a gateway processor in a wireless communication system is provided to make the gateway processor perform a call setup between an IP(Information Provider) and a terminal, and to implement the information service such as a push service, so as to automatically transmit various multimedia information to a user terminal through a wireless communication network at a necessary time. CONSTITUTION: A gateway processor is equipped in a wireless communication system. The gateway processor is interlocked with an IWF(Inter Working Function) and an HLR(Home Location Register), and processes a location inquiry of a terminal, a call setup/release, and a transceiving of a user data. The gateway processor receives a call setup request for transmitting information from an IP(Information Provider), and confirms a terminal location of an information transmission object. According to a confirmed location, the gateway processor transmits the call setup request to the terminal, and receives a call setup response from the terminal to notify the IP of a call setup completion. The terminal receives the information from the IP to process the information according to a pre-setup state. The gateway processor receives a call release request from the IP, and releases a call to the terminal.
