PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system and a radio communication portable information terminal in which detailed information related to transmission and reception can be obtained and a redial function and a recall function can be effectively utilized. SOLUTION: Each time a PHS(R) terminal 6 originates a call, a radio base station 5 reads a base station place name which is stored in a memory 5a of a radio base station 5 for connecting a party of a transmission destination to a telephone line network 5, and transmits the base station place name to the PHS(R) terminal 6 of a transmission source. The PHS(R) terminal 6 stores the date of start when a line is connected, the time of start, a transmission destination telephone number (transmission source telephone number), a line class, the date of end and the time of end into a memory together with the base station place name. When a redial button is operated, the information stored in the memory is indicated on a display part 19, and the transmission destination to be redialed is selected. At such a time, the base station place name is indicated on the display part 19, thereby knowing where a party is located.
