<p>Disclosed is a method of preventing frost and facilitating removal of winterprecipitation relative to a windshield, comprising applying to a windshielda winter precipitation barrier composition. In one embodiment, the barriercomposition comprises: a solvent and a silicon containing compound, the siliconcontaining compound comprising at least one of a reactive silane, a polyalkyleneoxide polysiloxane, or a combination of at least one of the foregoing, whereinthe reactive silane is at least one of a halosilane having the formula (I); an alkoxysilaneor aminosilane having the formula (II) a compound of formula (III); or a combinationcomprising one or more of the foregoing reactive silanes. In another embodiment,the disclosed winter precipitation barrier composition comprises a reactivesilane and a solvent, wherein the reactive silane is as described above.</p> |
