PURPOSE:To prevent fluctuations in a toner replenishing quantity caused by residual toner inside a toner replenishing tank. CONSTITUTION:An LED 80 is installed on one side surface at the prescribed position of the toner replenishing tank 60, and a photodiode 81 is installed on the corresponding other side surface. The toner replenishing tank 60 has sufficient toner 63 inside, and while the toner 63 is over the installation position of the LED 80, an output signal is not generated from the photodiode 81, to instruct that there is a large amount of the residual toner. On the other hand, when the residual toner is under the installation position of the LED 80, reduction in the residual toner is instructed with the output signal from the photodiode 81. When the number of video counts calculated from a picture signal is converted into a toner replenishing time, a conversion table for showing the correspondence relation of the number of the video counts in a CPU and the toner replenishing time, is changed according to the presence of the output signal from the photodiode 81, and the toner replenishing time corrected according to the residual toner is determined to replenish, the toner. |
