Heading C2U. 17α - Acyloxy - 21 - hydroxy - steroids of the pregnane series are prepared by the action of enzymes from Flavobacterium dehydrogenans on 17α,21-diacyloxy-steroids in an aqueous medium of pH not greater than 6À5.
