1,264,555. Loom disc brakes; transmitting mechanism. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 15 May, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 24724/69. Heading F2E. [Also in Division D1] A loom brake comprises a caliper-type disc brake 58, the master cylinder 53 of which is controlled by a rod 39 controlled through a spring-loaded lever 26 by a rod 24 pivotally attached to the shipper handle 21. Movement of handle 21 to the stop position moves rod 24 to the left, whereby a collar 37 thereon frees lever 26 which is moved clockwise about pivot 28 by a spring 32 to move rod 39 to the right to actuate the brake through a lever 52 pivoted at 54 on the master cylinder housing. When handle 21 is moved to the start position, rod 24 is moved to the right to rotate lever 26 anticlockwise to release collar 47, whereby rod 39 moves to the left to release the brake. When handle 21 is in the stop position, the brake can be released independently by a lever 70 which actuates lever 26 through rod 72.
|
