1298825 Plastics-covered window frames J KELLER 9 Dec 1969 [9 Dec 1968] 60154/69 Heading E1J A window frame is constructed from a plurality of damp-proof frame members, each of which comprises a core 38, e.g. of wood, provided with one or more bores 24, 26, 46 at its ends and totally covered with a coating of plastics material 42, the bores receiving connecting bolts 28, 48 to form corner joints of the frame. The plastics coating may be of a glass-fibre-reinforced polyester, which is moulded around the core after impregnating the core with a polyester solution and making incisions therein to improve the bonding. The connecting bolts are firmly set in the bores by a rapid-hardening polyester or epoxy resin. Main frames or wing frames may be so constructed. |
