A detergent and cleaning agent which dissolves protein contains polysulphimide polyesters (where Ar1 and Ar2 are mononuclear aromatic radicals R is alkylene with at least 2C, Y = H, alkali metal atoms, NH4 or alkylammonium, Z = H, alkali metal atoms, NH4, alkylammonium or alkyloyl with at least 2C, and X is an integer) in combination with at least one other conventional detergent component.
