1342365 Magazines for nested articles JOHN DALE Ltd 19 April 1971 [18 June 1970 11 Feb 1971] 29700/70 and 4459/71 Heading B8S A magazine comprising upper and lower plates 74, 76, Fig. 1, supports a plurality of stacks of nested articles in a series of aligned bushes 78, 91 in the plates and successive stacks are aligned with a stack lowering device 150, when the preceding stack is almost depleted, by automatically indexing the magazine by one step. The stacks are supported by a slide on a plate 25 until they ride up over a lip 31 as the magazine is indexed and fall down a hole 29 to the lowering device 150. The latter comprises resilient petals 160, Fig. 4, which are normally open and are closed to arrest the stack by sliding actuators 158, moved in and out by a cam-ring 152. This cam ring is rotated by a pneumatic ram 105, Fig. 1, which also indexes the magazine through a bellcrank which engages one of a series of pins 170 provided adjacent each bush 91. Pins 170 also positively locate the magazine by engaging a spring-loaded detent 140, Fig. 2 (not shown). |
