<p>N-Octyl-o-phenylenediamine (I) is used as active substance in biocidal prepns. It displays strong bactericidal activity, esp. against gram-negative bacteria, and retains this activity even in the presence of protein and soaps as well as hard water; it is compatible with non-ionic surfactants. Prepns. contg. (I) are partic. suitable for use as disinfectants, preservatives and algicides, and can also be used for the antibacterial finishing of textiles and human and animal hair.</p> |
