Preferably the application is also carried out under pressure. The frequency of the vibrations may be tuned to natural frequency of the substrate. The substrate or suspension is subject to vibrations for a time of the order of seconds, but the vibrations may be continued for a period after the application is complete to obtain uniform coating and to remove surplus suspension.
