1383760 Transparent polyamides HOECHST AG 8 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 57069/71 Heading C3R Transparent copolyamides are derived from a C 7-20 aromatic dicarboxylic acid, 1,3- or a mixture of at least 50 mol. per cent 1,3- with 1,4- bis-(aminomethyl)-cyclohexane, and sufficient of an aliphatic aminocarboxylic acid of up to 20 carbon atoms to provide 5 to 60 wt. per cent of the polyamide. Specified aromatic acids are iso- and tere-phthalic and 2,5-pyridine-, 4,41- diphenyl-, and 1,4-, 1,5-, and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acids. The amino acid may be amino-caproic, -pivalic, -caprylic, -undecanoic or -dodecanoic or their lactams. The cyclic diamines are preferably trans. Reference is made to Specification 922,677. The polymers may be injection moulded. |
