Forming coloured picture or pattern - using special tool to cover design marked on paper mounted on expanded plastics substrate

Picture or decorative pattern is made by a form of embroidery on a sheet of paper (13) mounted on a layer of expanded plastics such as polystyrene. A picture of pattern is first drawn on the paper (13). A special tool (12) with a flat end having two points is used to pierce a hole in the paper (13). The tool (12) is then used to force the end of a short length of wool or braid (11) through the hole and into the polystyrene. When the tool (12) is withdrawn the elasticity of the paper and polystyrene retains the end of the wool. The other end of the wool is forced into a second hole together with the end of a second length of wool. This process is repeated until the picture is covered with wool or braid of different colours.
