Microwave thermal fixer for photocopier - passes copy through waveguide loops for increased thermal transfer

A microwave-powered thermal fixer for a photocopier has the processed copy passed through a slotted waveguide (16) to apply the microwaves from both sides. The waveguide is curved so that the copy passes through several times for max. efficiency. The waveguide is a hollow metal curved section with a magnetron (17) at one end and with a reflecting impedance (19) at the other end. The system uses a min. of electric power to provide a max. of thermal transfer to the copy for a high speed fixing.
