PURPOSE:To execute processing at equal copying speed to that in a multicopying mode even in a single copying mode and to surely detect a third document in a copying device provided with an automatic document feeder(ADF). CONSTITUTION:A document detecting sensor SE 10 is set on the document tray 51 of the ADF 50. The sensor SE 10 detects the third document left on the tray 51. The sensor SE 10 is arranged so as to satisfy conditions L1>=l1, L2<l2, supposing that a distance to resist rollers 58 and 59 from the sensor SE 10 is L1, a distance to loosening rollers 55 and 56 therefrom is L2, the length of the maximum size which is large enough to previously feed three sheets of paper in a copying machine main body is l1, and the length of the minimum size is l2. |
