PURPOSE:To realize the reinforcement of rigidity in a cylinder barrel at yet lower cost, by forcibly pressing a thick part enclosing a high pressure generator part of the barrel into a sleeve provided with a tapped part screwed in by a delivery valve holder. CONSTITUTION:A barrel 21 is provided with a bore 3 receiving a plunger 1 and a part 21a at one end side enclosing a high pressure generator part 8 inside the bore 3 is so produced as to be larger in thickness than that of other parts. The thick part 21a of the barrel 21 is forcibly pressed in a sleeve 22 different in material. Both the barrel 21 and the sleeve 22 solidly coupled together as one body by this force-fit operation is incorporated into a pump body 19 made up of an aluminum alloy casting. The barrel 21 consisting of a material being high in hardness and the sleeve 22 consisting of a material being relatively low in hardness are unified in one by said force fitting whereby the thickness of a part directly receiving the high pressure can be amply reinforced, meaning that the barrel 21 excellent in hardness takes the shape of being reinforced by the sleeve 22 abounding in mechanical tenacities. |
