PURPOSE:To obtain a cheaper auxiliary starting device with no requirement for its high durability by automatically displaying the necessity for assistance in engine starting and by forbidding the operation of an auxiliary starting device when there is no necessity for its assistance. CONSTITUTION:As the temperature of glow plug 20 rises, illuminance of a pilot lamp 16 decreases. After confirming this, an operator starts a starter 23. Then a sensing register 19 is short-circuited, preventing amperage in the glow plug 20 from decreasing. If the cooling water temperature is above -5 deg.C when the operator swiches a key switch 1 over a preheat contact 1b, an output is displayed on a comparator 6, and a relay switch 11 opens. Though the glow plug 20 is electrified at this time, the pilot lamp 16 is supplied with no current. With this contrivance, the operator comes to know he can start the engine without the auxiliary starting unit on the ground that the pilot lamp is not lit. |
