摘要 The through-flow electric water heater uses a blank wire electric heating element (4,5,6) in the water flow path (1), with a pressure-responsive switch (11) used to disconnect the heating element (4,5,6) in response to an overpressure in the flow path (1). The resistance wire for the heating element is formed as a capillary, with the capillary space (16) coupled to the switch (11) and containing a medium which expands in response to local overheating to operate the switch (11). Pref. the capillary spaces (16) of a number of heating elements (4,5,6) are connected in a star configuration. ADVANTAGE - Rapid, reliable cut-out in response to over-heating.
