PURPOSE:To obtain a musical sound or voice which has nonmonotonous timbre and provides a rich natural feeling by the formant sound synthesis device which electrically synthesizes a formant sound like a human-voice vowel or natural musical instrument sound. CONSTITUTION:A 1st waveform (carrier) which has a 1st repetitive period is generated, a 2nd waveform (window waveform) with a 2nd period longer than the 1st repetitive period is generated, and those waveforms are multiplied to output a formant sound waveform. The 1st waveform and 2nd waveforms are outputted corresponding to a pulse signal which is generated repeatedly. The period of this pulse signal corresponds to the pitch of the formant sound to be generated. The 2nd waveform is generated repeatedly having the period corresponding to the pitch of the formant sound according to the pulse signal, phase information on the 1st waveform is made different in order and generated, and the phase of the 1st waveform generated for each pulse signal is varied, pulse by pulse. |
