PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the coercive force of alloy powder, to improve its saturation magnetization and to reduce the production cost by incorporating a specified amt. of Ni into an iron base alloy having a specified compsn. by atomic %. SOLUTION: An Fe base allay molten metal having a compsn. contg. one or two kinds of Si and Al by 15 to 35% in total, 0.1 to 30% Ni and 0.1 to 6% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is powdered by a water atomizing method, and the obtd. powder is subjected to classifying and flattening under ordinary conditions, is subjected to heat treatment as needed and is further subjected to classifying. Namely, the grain size of the water atomizing powder is regulated to <=50μm by classifying, which is flattened by an attoritor, is thereafter subjected to heat treatment under holding at 350 to 750 deg.C for a prescribed time in an Ar atmosphere at need, and successively, size regulation is executed in such a manner that the average thickness (d) is regulated to 0.02 to 0.6μm, the grain size in the case it reaches 50% by the total weight from the small one of the grain size obtd. by a size partial distribution gauge D50 is regualted to 3 to 60μm, and D50 /d is regulated to 20 to 500.
