Disclosed is an electrode which enables to obtain a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having small variations in battery characteristics. Also disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using such an electrode. Specifically disclosed is an electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, which is composed of a collector and an electrode mix containing a polymer and an active material which can reversibly intercalate/deintercalate lithium ions by charge/discharge. This electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries is characterized in that the stress relaxation rate ((1 - s₁₀/s₀) OE100 (%)) of the polymer is set at 50-80% and the thickness change rate of the electrode mix after 72-hour immersion in the electrolyte solution at 60°C is set at from -3% to 10%.
