A plastic stackable crate (1) of generally rectangular shape with a cross ribbed botton plate integral with the frame (4) and a support flange (7) extending round the crate and stiffened by the vertical ribs e.g. (14) on the end and side walls and on the rounded corners, in which as a novel characteristic, there is incorporated to provide additional resistance to stresses arising during stacking e.g. by the clamping arms of a stacking truck, on at least the two end walls (2) a pressure plate (11) attached to the support flange (7) and to the wall (2) and stiffening ribs (14). The support flange (7) has a series of elongated apertures (9) in the part at the bottom of the pressure plate (11), for reasons arising from the need to withdraw the mould cores after injection moulding. |
