A prepn. in liq or powder form is metered and sprayed for inhalation. The metering and spraying operation can only be effected when the person inhaling exerts a set inhalation effort sufficient for the proper working of the prepn. and suitable for his or her constitution. When the effort is below this level the equipment locks out of use. There can be a positive stop valve which shuts off automatically when the effort falls below' the set level.
