1283966 Converting PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 Aug 1969 [22 Aug 1968] 41372/69 Heading H2F [Also in Division H3] A voltage converter including a single-ended push-pull pair of complementary transistors 1, 2 is characterized in that the emitter collector path of the transistor 2 is shunted by a series connection of a piezo-electric device 4 and a capacitance 5, 6 which is large compared with the series capacitance of the device 4, and in that the signal across at least part of the capacitance is fedback to the bases of the transistors via a resistance 7. The transistors may be emitter coupled, as shown, so that the converter is insensitive to variations in their current gains, or alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), they may be collector coupled with the phase inverter 17 omitted. The output voltage is rectified by voltage multiplier 11, 12, 13, 11<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>1</SP> and may be applied as a control to varactor diodes for tuning a signal receiver, the resonant frequency of the device 4 being above the receiver range. The converter may be formed as an intergrated circuit. |
