[Also in Divisions B8 and F2] A feed mechanism for a press comprises material advancing means including a shaft 18 driven by a crank drive 5 connected to said shaft by means of a four bar linkage 14, 20, 21, 26. The position of the point 21 of the linkage may be adjusted by rotation of wheel 25 geared thereto to alter the amount of angular movement applied to shaft 18 by a lever 16. The material is advanced by rollers 7 and 8, intermittently driven in one direction only by a gear 28 linked to shaft 18 by means of a clutch. The height of the rollers 7 and 8 may be altered by means of a screw 12. A second set of rollers, similarly driven by shaft 18, may be situated on the other side of the press 1, Fig. 1 (not shown). |
