A square plastics (e.g. p.v.c.) shingle has oppositely-directed hooked portions 4, 8 along opposed edges for interlocking, the hooks 8 being formed by welding or adhering stepped strips 7. The hooks 4 may also be formed by attaching strips but as shown are formed by bending. A nailing hole 10 is provided. A small gusset 21 is shaped to interlock with the four corners of four interlocking shingles to seal the joint. There is also described a shingle Fig. 8b (not shown) having a sealed-in aerial lead, and shingles. Figs. 9b, 10b (not shown) integral or combined with ventilator hoods or pipes. |
