Large-dia. skein consists of frustroconical lays of cross-wound axially overlying yarns. Pref. each yarn overlaps 1.5-4 turns in the skein. A holder extends over the skein breadth and goes through it at several radial points. It holds the skein for transport while in a 1st closed position and releases it in a 2nd, open position. |
