1329023 Extruding scrap plastics sheet H KOCH 19 Nov 1970 [5 March 1970] 55041/70 Heading B5A Scrap plastics material, in sheet form, is fed to the circumference of a rotated hollow cutting roller whereon it is wound into an increasing thickness which is forced, by pressure rollers located around the circumference of the cutting roller, as continuous strands through openings which are provided to the hollow interior of the roller and which have an inlet, from the exterior of the roller, comprising heated edges which exert a cutting action on the wound sheet, and act also to fuse the cut edges from successive sheet coils into the continuous strands. A conveyer means located in the interior of the roller acts to divide the strands into lengths which it conveys out of the roller, to storage, or to an extruder. A sheet of greater width than that of the roller is gathered together during feeding thereto. |
