Wall slab to floor beam joint for precast concrete frame - has horizontal slab base with corner angle irons welded to bearing plates set in beam ends

The joint is used between the precast reinforced concrete components of an industrialised building frame, fixing the foot of a wall slab (3A) to the horizontal faces of floor beams (1A,1B). Ends abutting the beams may take simple end support from the head of a previously installed wall slab (2), their transverse top end margins locating flush fitted steel plates (5). The bottom corners of slab (3A) locate flush fitting angle irons (4), and the connection is made by fillet welding (6) the angle irons (4) to the plates (5). The plates may be cast onto the components (1A,1B,3A) and welded to reinforcing bars (8,9). The gap between the beams (1A,1B) may be closed by the insertion of a round bar and welding to the plates.
