PURPOSE:To enable the temp. measurement of a cable arranged even in a small space, by sending an ultrasonic wave to the central conductor through a plastic covering, and obtaining the temp. of the central conductor by the measurement of the received time of the reflected wave. CONSTITUTION:When an ultrasonic wave from an ultrasonic oscillator 3 is emitted to a central conductor 1 of a CV cable through a covering 2, and the time necessary for propagating back and forth is measured by receiving the reflected wave, the time varies considerably according to temps. By obtaining previously the relationship between the outside temp. of the cable and the propagation time at different temps. of the conductor, the conductor temp. can be obtd. by measuring the outside temp. of the cable and the propgation time. In the case of measuring continuously the temp. of the cable conductor, it is convenient to bring the ultrasonic oscillator 3 into contact with the cable. |
