PURPOSE:To strengthen a safety measure for aged-person's households by adding an emergency reporting function to a watthour meter set outdoors at individual homes. CONSTITUTION:This watthour meter 5 has an emergency reporting function added in addition to the measurement and display of watthour used on a display section 4. In other words, in case of emergency for an aged person kept in bed persistently and an aged person living alone for example, when burglary, a fire, disease or the like happens too suddenly to al low him to cry lauder for help or to make a telephone call, an emergency signal is generated from an emergency signal generator 6 simply by depressing a push button on hand. The emergency signal is inputted into a signal detecting section of the watthour meter 5 through a private line 7. As a result, when the signal detecting section produces an output, an emergency reporting section 9 is activated to report emergency. In short, a buzzer sounds or a display lamp lights. Thus, a help can be asked to a person who rushes hearing the buzzer sound or noticing the lighting of the display lamp. |
