PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of a wire by incorporating prescribed weight % of silicone oil into a flux for filling having a specific grain size or below. CONSTITUTION:The welding flux to be filled into a steel hoop is constituted of the flux having <=246mu grain size and 0.01-5.0% silicone oil is incorporated into the flux. The variance in the rate of filling increases sharply and the incidence of disconnection during wire making and forming increases as well when the grain size of the flux to be filled is >=246mu and therefore the grain size is limited. The raw material powder of the flux is coated with the silicone oil to have the better fluidity when the powder is added with the silicone oil and is subjected to an agitating and mixing treatment. The filling is therefore made uniform and the generation of the disconnection is decreased in the stage of producing the wire. The high-speed production is thus made possible and the productivity of the wire is improved.
