摘要 PURPOSE:To exactly discriminate defective and non-defective tablets by considering the number of picture elements together with the raster number of a binary signal at the time of discriminating the defectiveness and non-defectiveness of the tablets by the binary signal generated by the second order differentiation of the image pickup signal of an object to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:The video signal (q) for the three tablets having the appearance as shown by (p) is subjected to the second order differentiation. The binary signal as shown (t) is obtd. when the second order differentiation signal (s) is subjected to prescribed threshold binarization. The binary signals are two in the case of the table having the defect like (b) as compared to the normal table (a) and therefore, the discrimination of whether the tablet is defective or non-defective is possible by such raster number. The binary signal is one in the case of the table having the flat defect like (c). The discrimination of such tablet is not possible only from said signal but the pulse width C4 of the binary signal is different from the pulse width of the binary signal of the non-defective tablet and therefore, the defectiveness and non-defectiveness are discriminated by comparing the count values of the number of the picture elements indicating the pulse width.
