PURPOSE:To obtain the direct positive image having the high max. optical density and the low min. optical density by developing a photographic sensitive material comprising a divalent magenta coupler with a color developer contg. a specified diamine derivative. CONSTITUTION:The direct positive image is formed by subjecting the sensitive material comprising at least one layer of an inner latent type silver halide emulsion layer which is not previously fogged, and a color image forming coupler provided on a supporting body to a fogging processing, after image-wisely exposing and before or during development processing of the sensitive material. In this case, at least one kind of the divalent magenta coupler is incorporated in the sensitive material. And, the direct positive color image is formed by developing the sensitive material with the color developer contg. a N- hydroxyalkyl-substd.-p-phenylene diamine derivative. Thus, the direct positive color image having the high max. optical density without increasing the min. optical density of the magenta coupler is obtd. |
