PURPOSE:To prevent an electrophotographic transfer paper from generation of curl after recording and to enable reproduction of high copy quality by providing a coated layer on one side of base paper manufactured by a Yankee paper machine, and specifying Beck smoothness of the surface. CONSTITUTION:After providing a coated layer to at least one side of base paper manufactured by a Yankee paper machine, the paper is treated by calendering, etc., to have 20-2,000 sec. Beck smoothness measured by JIS P8119 of the surface of the coated layer. By executing calendering, etc., the travelling property of the transfer paper in a copying machine or printer is improved. Recording of high picture quality is enabled and preprinting effect is also improved. Suitable pigment consisting of a primary part of the coated layer is one having <=2.0mum particle size, for example, inorganic pigment such as calcium bicarbonate, etc., org. pigment such as polystyrene beads, etc. Suitable adhesive to be used is a water-soluble adhesive emulsion latex having high adhesive strength to a pigments, and base paper, and having small blocking tendency, singly, or as mixture. |
