PURPOSE:To attain a high accurate calculation of humidity and to make a memory capacity of a micro-computer required during the calculation stage as small as possible by a method wherein a relative humidity of indoor air is calculated in reference to detected values of an indoor temperature sensor and another temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION:An evaporator 3 of a freezing cycle is provided with any one of an evaporator temperature sensor 7 for sensing the temperature of the evaporator, or a temperature sensor 8 at the rear surface of the evaporator for sensing a rear surface temperature of the evaporator 3, or a drain temperature sensor 9 for sensing a temperature of drain water. An indoor device 1 is provided with a room air temperature sensor 10 for sensing an indoor air temperature. Then, a relative humidity of indoor air is calculated in reference to detected values of the two sensors (one of the evaporator temperature sensor 7 or the evaporator rear surface temperature sensor 8 or the drain water temperature sensor 9, and an indoor air temperature sensor 10). With such an arrangement as above, it is possible to calculate humidity in a high accurate manner and to restrict a memory capacity of a micro-computer 11 required in the stage of calculation as small as possible.
