PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a lamp and enable the printing time to be shortened by providing a means for determining that the life of a ultraviolet ray lamp has almost run down at the time when an intensity of illumination is below a specific value and a means for indicating the life of the lamp on the basis of the results. SOLUTION: An intensity of illumination is measured immediately before the extreme end of color thermosensible recording paper 12 reaches the fixing device 17, and an intensity of luminescence of an ultraviolet ray lamp 18 for yellow is controlled, however, the controller determines the life of the lamp in this instance. Namely, when a temperature of the pipe wall T measured by a temperature sensor 21 lies between the minimum value T1 and the maximum value T2 and an intensity of illumination measured by the illumination sensor 22 is smaller than a specific value L1, the yellow lamp 18 is determined as having almost run down. In this case, the controller actuates an alarm indication device via a driver at the time of completion of print and gives instructions on the replacement of a ultraviolet ray lamp 18 for yellow. |
