PURPOSE: A digital television(DTV) signal receiver is to suppress a co-channel interference using additional filtering process. CONSTITUTION: The first data slicer(22) decodes a stream of 2N-level symbol. The first delay unit(201) generates the pair of differentially delayed streams of the 2N-level symbols. The first linear combiner(202) linearly combines the pair of differentially delayed streams to generate the stream of (4N-1)-level symbols providing a first comb filter response in which the artifacts of co-channel interfering analog television signal are suppressed. The second linear combiner(262) linearly combines respective first and second input signals received thereby for supplying a respective output signal therefrom. One of the first and the second linear combiners is an adder and the other is a subtractor. The second data slicer(24) decodes the stream of (4N-1)-level symbols to generate pre-coded symbol decoding results. A multiplexer(261) reproduces the pre-decoding results and the output signal of the second linear combiner in response to a multiplexer control signal. The second delay device(263) delays the output signal of the first multiplexer to generate the second input signal of the second linear combiner.
