PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color wheel in which incident light can be efficiently used even when filter regions are not so accurately positioned. SOLUTION: The color wheel 10 has a lens structure 5a, 5b having curved faces 6a, 6b formed along the ideal boundary line W between filter regions. The optical path of the light entering the area of the boundary E between the filter regions is varied by the lens effect of the curved faces 6a, 6b and the light is distributed into the respective filter regions and reliably separated into light of specified colors.
