<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmission technique that stores and transmits a plurality of types of low-speed signals in one and the same frame of a high-speed signal in a mixed state. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transponder is provided with: a means for mapping a first client signal whose transmission speed is lower between a plurality of types of the first client signal and a second client signal having different transmission speeds from each other to a GFP (Generic Framing Procedure) frame of ITU-T recommendation; a means for performing 64B/66B encoding of the first client signal mapped into the GFP frame; and a means for multiplexing the second client signal and the first client signal subjected to the 64B/66B encoding to a frame of OTN (Optical Transport Network) conformity of the ITU-T recommendation. The optical transponder stores and transmits the first client signal and the second client signal as an optical signal of one wavelength in the same frame in a mixed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
