PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect a large face from the subject image. SOLUTION: An image processing circuit 18 of an image capturing device detects a person's face to perform AWB, AE or AF. In detecting the face, the processing circuit has a processing for detecting a relatively large face, a processing for detecting a relatively medium face, and a processing for detecting a relatively small face. First, the processing for detecting the relatively large face is performed to repeat a plurality of steps to output the detected results; the processing for detecting the relatively medium face is performed to output the detected results; the processing for detecting the relatively large face is performed to repeat the plurality number of steps to output the detected results; and then the processing for detecting the relatively small face is performed to output the detected results.
