摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a positive electrode active material which enables the further enhancement of lithium ion secondary battery's output and cycle characteristics; a method for manufacturing such a positive electrode active material; a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, which includes such a positive electrode active material; and a lithium ion secondary battery having such a positive electrode.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material comprises Li, Ni, Co, Mn and W. Supposing that the total content of metal elements included in the positive electrode active material, except Li, is 100 mol%, a Ni content is 30-60 mol%, a Co content is 15-35 mol%, a Mn content is 15-35 mol%, and a W content is over 0 to 5 mol%. W is concentrated in a surface layer of the positive electrode active material rather than the positive electrode active material.
