The present invention relates to a surfactant comprising (2S)-1-O-7(Z),10(Z),13(Z)-hexadecatrienoyl-3-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-sn-glycerol as an effective component. Also, the present invention relates to a cleaning composition comprising the surfactant. The cleaning composition has excellent foaming strength, and is mild to skin and scalp, thereby providing excellent quality of use.
