Yarn is wound onto the spool 22 of a twofor-one twisting spindle by pressing the spool against the inside of a cylinder 8 that is magnetically rotated on the spindle 1 and' thus causing the spool to rotate about its own spindle 21. A stationary disc 13 has mounted on it a spring loaded pivoted lever 19 that supports the spindle 21 and a traversing mechanism 27 slidable on a member 29. The traversing mechanism 27 contains a magnet 28 that cooperates with a movable magnet 40 to traverse the mechanism and to maintain the disc stationary. The cylinder 8 contains a ring of magnets 15 that are acted on by a magnetic chain or by an asynchronous motor to rotate the cylinder. A yarn guide 37 is mounted on the traverse mechanism and is pivotal to allow the spool to be removed. |
