The invention relates to a system for storing boxes 1 or the like in successive stacked rows 2, the system comprising: a base 3, which supports the stacked rows 2 of boxes 1 or the like and has a first and second edge 4a and 4b; a first longitudinal conveyor 5a, which carries the boxes 1 or the like and is arranged along the first edge 4a of the base 3; a second longitudinal conveyor 5b, which carries away the boxes 1 or the like and is arranged along the second edge 4b of the base 3; and a transverse conveyor 6, which is designed to move on the area of the longitudinal conveyors 5a, 5b and the base 3, transversely to the edges 4a, 4b of the base 3. The solutions existing hitherto have had the disadvantage that they could not satisfactorily implement the first-in - first-out principle. This principle has been successfully implemented in the present invention, in that the transverse conveyor 6 comprises a traversing hanger 7, which extends over the base 3 in the direction of the said edges 4a, 4b of the base 3 and is provided with a controlled grab element 8 for moving the boxes 1 to and from the stacked rows 2. <IMAGE> |
