Heading H1T An inductor comprises two helical coils 6 and 10 connected in parallel and wound to cross at selected points at some or all of which the coils are connected together, one coil 6 being of lower resistance than the other coil 10. Coil 10 may be of resistance wire and the grooved former 2 may be of ceramic, glass or plastics material. The inductor may be used in the anode circuit of a mercury arc rectifier or for controlling the initial discharge in protective spark gaps. |
