At one end of the shuttle both side walls are joined to each other, while at the other end, whereon they have a holder for the shuttle bobbin, they are separated from each other and pre-tensioned against each other by a tensioned strip of material which is arranged in an opening penetrating these side walls transversely. Provision is made at the outer ends of this opening for enlargements opening outwards and the elastic strip has, on both its ends, thickenings resting against these enlargements.
