[Also in Division C3] Substrates are coated or impregnated with an adhesive composition including at least one thermoplastic polymer and meltable plasticiser material for the polymer, wherein a plurality of solid particles of the plasticiser material, totalling from 7 to 25 per cent by weight, of the total composition, are individually encased in substantially continuous, seamless shells of polymeric material at least 0.02 microns in average, thickness, and may be released therefrom by application of heat which either melts the plasticiser material and causes it to egress from the shells, or melts both the plasticiser material and the material of the shells. Suitable substrates are paper, e.g. wallpaper, plastic-coated cloth, and a sheet or strip of synthetic polymeric material, regenerated cellulose or a cellulose derivative. |
